Kolsai lakes is one of the most beautiful places, they are called the pearl of North Tien Shan. They are situated at heights 1,800, 2,250 and 2,700 m above sea level. Warm season lasts from April to end of September. Kolsai is the best place for stay, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking.
The lake Kaindy is one of mysterious places of foothills at a height of 2,000 m above sea level, among fir-trees, surrounded by mountain peaks. It appeared around 100 years ago from the huge rockfall that hogged the gorge with the natural dam. The lake is situated 12 km to the east from the first Kolsai lake. The lake is 400 m long, and almost 30 m wide. The lake Kaindy is surrounded by rocky hills and steep cliffs. Upper is the rocky dead-end, and one can approach it on the car only from one side. From the ridge, one can see amazing views to the gorge Saty, the river valley Chilik, the gorge Kaindy. There are rich mushrooms forests around, where in July-August, one can gather wild strawberry, and mountain raspberry in the last summer month. Dry fir-tree trunks rise over the water surface, like the masts of sunk ships.
